Upper Perk’s Springs sports are finally here, and they are all ready for the upcoming season. Upper Perk Baseball is predicted to have a great season worth following. The WSJ interviewed one of the team’s seniors and learned more about the expected outcome of the season.

Last season, the team ended with a record of 12-9, finishing 6th in the Pioneer conference. During an interview with the WSJ, Jackson Long stated, “I believe we have a good chance to have a great season.” The team is already off to a great start with a 2-0 record, beating Schuylkill Valley 17-3 and Brandywine Heights 4-1, landing themselves an early 1st place lead in the conference.
While the UP baseball team lost valuable players to the graduating class of 2024, this year’s roster is full of rising players that the community is going to want to watch. These include three seniors, Cole Pierce, Jackson Long, Brayden Adam, and junior Zane Seager. These upperclassmen, along with the rest of the team, plan to make UP history and go farther than ever before.
Beyond the regular season games, the UP baseball team will have to face some difficult teams. “Pope John Paul is probably going to be our most challenging game during the regular season, but that’s nothing our team can’t handle with a little hard work and determination,” Long added. In 2023, the team lost to Pope John Paul in the Pioneer Athletic Conference Championship by 2 runs. The team’s goal this year is to win PACs and work hard from there.
While it is still early in the season, the team is already undefeated. Their last home game of the season, which also happens to be their senior night, will take place on May 7th at 7 pm. Tune into Tribe Talk for all of the upcoming baseball game results.
